Our Story

Policies of The Cornell Inn

 ♥  FOOD  ♥  
We serve a hot breakfast daily, either as a buffet or "cooked to order".  Kindly advise us of any allergies, food sensitivities or special dietary restrictions with as much advanced notice as possible so we may plan our meals accordingly; we will always do our best to accommodate you.
Many of our rooms contain refrigerators (just ask), and we invite you to bring any specialized snacks you may prefer.
We have certain rooms and suites that are best suited for families; we welcome children of all ages but do not provide highchairs or cribs.  
Please call us before you make your reservation; we want you to feel welcomed, but we do have an attractive pond and waterfall on property which requires constant, parental supervision -without exception; we want everyone to be on the same page.

We love them but we do not currently allow pets in any of our guest rooms or on the property.  This is for the protection of all guests and our property.

We have our very own, intimate little pub in the main house, and guests can bring their drinks anywhere on the property.  We observe our responsibility to serve age-appropriate beverages to responsible consumers. 
As we have a liquor license, it is a violation of Massachusetts State law for alcohol not purchased through our license to be consumed on the property.
The Cornell adheres to, and appreciates your loyal participation in, our property-wide non-smoking policy. 
As is customary in the hospitality industry, a cleaning and de-fumigation surcharge of at least $300 will be added to the bill in case of inadvertence to this policy.
          Check-in is 3pm – 8pm
          Check-out is 11am      
Early check-ins may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis, depending on occupancy from the previous night.  Advance notice of an intended early arrival will increase the likelihood that your room will be ready prior to 3pm.  Kindly contact us at (413) 637-4800 if you plan to arrive later than 7pm so we may advise you of the late check-in procedure.
Advertised rates are based on two-person occupancy. 
There is a per-night charge of $35 per extra person in allowable rooms (fire code considerations).
If you elect to stay longer than originally planned, please notify the innkeeper to ascertain availability.
If you must alter your intended stay, please notify the innkeeper as soon as possible; as the balance of your reservation might be granted to another guest, which is an opportunity for that night to be refunded to you.  In the event that becomes the case, your refund will be processed without delay, and an email confirmation will be sent to you.
You may join the housecleaning team at any time!  (Just kidding!)

Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site.  We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

If staying one night, your deposit is equal to the full room rate for that night

If staying multiple nights, your deposit is equal to half of your stay; balance to be paid upon arrival. 
Assuming you booked directly with us (in person, on the phone, or via our website) contact us directly at (413) 637-4800; or send an email to:  innkeeper@cornellbb.com.   If you booked via another method (Expedia, hotels.com, booking.com, etc), you'll need to contact that online travel agent and follow their rules, timelines, and processes.

Here's what you can expect from us:  If you must cancel, you want to do it 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival in order to only be charged the $35 cancellation fee.
Less than 14 days of notice means forfeiture of the entire deposit, (unless your room is otherwise rented).  If we are able to rebook your room and nights to another party, we will immediately return your entire deposit minus the $35 cancellation fee.  Please notify us with as much notice as possible, as it is much more likely that we can book another party in your cancelled room if we have more notice.
Refunds for cancellations are processed immediately, less the applicable cancellation fee.  Please allow your bank up to 3 business days to credit the refund to your account.
